The Ministry of Health and The Interior is in charge of the administrative functions in relation to the organisation and financing of the Health care System, psychiatry and Health Insurance, the Pharmacy sector, Environment Protection, Land (Faroese Cadastre), Maps and Geodata, the Land Registration Act as well as the National Register in the Faroes.

The Ministry of Health and The Interior is responsible for a number of tasks in the international sphere which are linked to participation in the work of the international organisations, primarily in the Nordic region.
