Helgi Abrahamsen is serving as Minister of Environment, Industry and Trade, representing the Union Party (Sambandsflokkurin).
Helgi Abrahamsen was born 24 November 1966. He is married to Oddbjørg Abrahamsen. Together they have three children and live in Strendur.
Helgi Abrahamsen was a deputy representative from 2008-2011 before being first elected member of the Løgting at the Faroese general election in 2011 and served one term. He was not elected at the 2015 election but intermittently participated as a deputy representative. He was re-elected in 2019. He has served on a wide range of Standing Commitees.
Mr. Abrahamsen is a journalist by education from Danish School of Media and Journalism.
