United States Secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus, is visiting the Faroe Islands this week. He will arrive on Thursday 23 June and on Friday 24 June he has meetings with Prime Minister Mr Aksel Johannesen, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade Mr Poul Michelsen and Minister of Fisheries Mr Høgni Hoydal where they will exchange information of mutual interest and discuss arctic affairs.
The meetings will be followed by a press meeting in ‘Salurin’ in Tinganes on Friday 24 June at 12:00 hrs. Journalists wishing to attend the press meeting must contact palln@uvmr.fo or +298 551028 before Thursday 23 June at 13:00 hrs.
On his visit to the Faroe Islands the United States Secretary of the Navy will also meet the Parliament’s Committee of Foreign Affairs (Løgtingsins Uttanlandsnevnd) and visit the Joint Arctic Command Liaison Unit in Tórshavn.
United States Secretary of the Navy will leave the Faroe Islands on Sunday 26 June.
