The Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs visits the Faroes

The Faroese Prime Minister, Jóannes Eidesgaard, and the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Per Stig Møller, held an official meeting at Tinganes, the seat of the Faroese Government in Tórshavn.

The Faroese Prime Minister [Løgmaður], Jóannes Eidesgaard, and the Danish Minister of Foreign Affairs, Per Stig Møller, held an official meeting at Tinganes, the seat of the Faroese Government in Tórshavn.

Prime Minister Eidesgaard informed the Foreign Affairs Minister about the various priority issues currently on the Faroese agenda, noting, among other matters, that the Prime Minister is investigating potential Faroese membership in EFTA (European Free Trade Association). Options for an extended cooperation with the EU were also explored with particular emphasis on Faroese participation in the areas of research, education and civil aviation.

Following the official meeting with the Prime Minister, the Minister Møller met with the Faroese Parliament's Foreign Policy Committee to discuss Danish foreign affairs in general.
