Statement by Foreign Minister Jenis av Rana regarding Russia’s illegal attempt to annex parts of Ukraine.
The Goverment of the Faroe Islands strongly condemns the Russian attempt to annex the Ukrainian territories of Donetsk, Luhansk, Kherson and Zaporizhzhia. The organization of the referendums is a blatant violation of international law and the UN Charter. Accordingly, the Russian actions that seek the annexation of these occupied territories are illegal and must be considered null and void.
