On Friday 23. June, the Prime Minister of the Faroes, Mr Jóannes Eidesgaard, met with Mr Jean-Daniel Gerber, State Secretary for Economic Affairs in Berne in Switzerland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the intentions of the Faroes to become a member of EFTA.
On Friday 23. June, the Prime Minister of the Faroes, Mr Jóannes Eidesgaard, met with Mr Jean-Daniel Gerber, State Secretary for Economic Affairs in Berne in Switzerland. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the intentions of the Faroes to become a member of EFTA.
This meeting was the second official visit to the EFTA capitals regarding a possible Faroese EFTA membership. Earlier this month Mr Jóannes Eidesgaard met with the Foreign Minister of Liechtenstein, Ms Rita Kieber-Beck in Vaduz in Liechtenstein. The PM will in due course continue his intended trip to the other EFTA capitals.
