Faroe Islands Host Biannual Ministerial Meetings with Denmark and Greenland

On Monday, June 16 and Tuesday, June 17, ministers from Faroe Islands, Greenland, Denmark met for their biannual meetings. The countries take turns hosting the meetings, and this one was held in the Faroe Islands.
At the turn of the year, the Faroe Islands assumed the chairmanship of the Cooperation Council.
"It is important that the countries meet regularly at the ministerial level. We cooperate in many areas, not least now when the global security situation has changed," Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen stated before the meetings.
At the preliminary meeting, the participants were the Faroese Prime Minister Aksel V. Johannesen, the Danish Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen, and the Premier of Naalakkersuisut, Jens-Frederik Nielsen. The three discussed cooperation and provided updates on the economic and political developments in their respective countries.
The following day, the Cooperation Council meeting took place. Among other topics, the countries discussed foreign and security policy matters.
